Nuxeo Platform User Documentation

Nuxeo Forum

Updated: March 18, 2024

This addon is deprecated since Nuxeo Platform LTS 2016.

Nuxeo Forum brings forums into the Nuxeo Platform. A forum is a discussion space in which users can talk together. A forum is organized around different topics, in which users can add comments. Topics and comments are displayed in threads.

This addon requires no specific installation steps. It can be installed like any other package with nuxeoctl command line or from the Update Center.

Functional Overview

As for workspaces and sections, the access to a forum is defined by permissions. Forum permissions are the same as workspace permissions. However, in the case of a moderated topic, some users are declared "moderators" and are in charge of the approval of the topic content.

Forum creation and edition are available for users with "Edit" and "Manage" permissions. Users with "Manage" permissions can also manage the forum like a workspace, i.e. give users permissions, set alerts and manage the forum's trash.

Creating a Forum

You need "Edit" or "Manage" permissions to be able to create a forum.

You can create forums only in workspaces.

To create a forum:

  1. Click on the New button and click on the desired document on the pop-up.
  2. Fill in the document's creation form and click on the Create button.

The forum is created. You can now create topics to start discussing.

Editing a Forum

You need "Edit" or "Manage" permissions to edit a forum.

When you edit a forum, you modify its title and its description.

To edit a forum:

  1. On the forum, click on the Edit tab.
  2. Modify the title or the description of the forum. You can also add a comment explaining what you edited on the forum.
  3. Click on the Save button. The modifications are saved and the Forum tab is displayed.
